Debra L. Beck recently completed an executive masters degree in health economics, policy, and management at the London School of Economics. Her dissertation examined contemporary data on the impact of presumed and informed consent on organ donation rates. Early in her career, Debra worked in clinical research and clinical ophthalmology, including a stint as a clinical trials coordinator and steering committee member for an NIH clinical trial in glaucoma. She has been a full-time medical writer since 2000, specializing in cardiology and health economics, health policy.

Over the past 33 years, she has written more than 500 articles, over 90 videos, dozens of detail aids and copy for hundreds of other projects in a wide range of fields. She has at various times also been a monthly columnist on medical ethics, a trade journal news editor, and a videoscript and print editor.
